Play Up

Cruising in your comfort zone? Been there! Here’s my journal of actually doing the stuff I usually think about but never get around to doing.

A bit more about SUPPing

I already posted about my interest in this earlier last year but I actually pushed the boat out (pardon the pun) and bought two SUPs as an Xmas present for my husband and I in December. Here on Great Barrier Island we have put them to much use – while I haven’t exactly mastered surfing the waves on them, others have mastered “dog walking” and “towing a cousin” on them. See pics.
For me, I just enjoy a leisurely paddle up the rivers and on the sea when it’s calm and clear. If you haven’t tried this sport – you must. It’s true – brilliant for your core strength and flabby under arms plus doesn’t even feel like exercise at the time (at my pace).

Hi Sandy, Cousin of my Cousins,
We met many years ago when ago when you came to visit Kingston, Canada via Brampton. I have never forgotten meeting you, your sister and your Dad, nor the story of your mother’s life.
I just came across your blog, and being in the media research business as well as the same head space, I’m enjoying the commonality of your perspective and mine from the other side of the world!
I’m older than you but WTF is just hitting me now. Perhaps I’m already considering my future No BS years! i hope you keep blogging, you’re inspirational.
    Cheers, Daphne

Hi Daphne, I remember you. I am sure you drove us home from the airport all those years ago – 32 to be precise. How nice your comments are, thank you. Yes, I am sure the whole turning point thing is the same wherever you are in the world. I am not sure if any of my Canadian cousins actually read my blog – they are all blokes so probs have no interest anyway! I have only a few posts left to go on this blog, but have another idea up my sleeve for the next one. Do keep in touch and say hi to Aunty Jean and my Canadian clan, much love Sandyxxx
